You are meant to change the world. It may be that God has given you an ability that no one else on earth possesses. It may be He has placed you somewhere in the expanse of time in which you can change the world, the church, the life of your child or someone else in your sphere of influence. He has pre-ordained for you to possess a skill, talent, ability and/or access to the resources needed to enact changes that will bring glory to the very God of the universe.
I recently heard a comedian on the radio basically state that people are not that extraordinary. That we should accept an ordinary existence. I state with great boldness that what he is selling is a lie. This comedian is probably a great guy who is just ignorant to his potential in Christ. He is actually changing the world, but not for the better. If he were a super hero he would not be using his powers for good. I hope he wakes up soon.
Again, I don’t know how you are to change the world. I don’t even know that you will follow God’s lead. I simply know with every fiber of my being that you are destined to do great things for the kingdom of God. Don’t give up. Don’t surrender to the lie that you are meant to lead a life of mediocrity and quiet desperation.
Prepare yourself. Develope your skills. Grow in your relationship with Christ. Remember Jesus waited 30 years to begin His ministry. Paul spent 15 years in relative isolation after his conversion on the road to Damascus. Pray. Find people who will encourage you. Finally ask God to provide the faith you need to sustain your passion as you work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
P.S. This post is not meant to detract from you changing the world in your daily life. It’s intent is to open your eyes to the fact that you are meant to do great and important things from time to time besides what you do in day-to-day life.
